The Great '83 malibu makeover! You LOVE your boat. In fact you've always babied her. You've kept her clean, you've kept her protected from the elements. You've always done that. But Father Time waits for no one...and now she is just...well, old. Have you looked at prices for new ski boats these days? They cost more than cars!! Ok, there might be an exotic car or luxury SUV out there that could run higher, but for the most part the prices for a nice ski boat is enough to have you praying the drought doesn't end! What to do? Well, James has an answer....Remodel yours! Case in point - the remake of the '83 Malibu: taking old to new with a little imagination and a lot of expert work! The above Malibu, as you can see, was in pretty good condition. But compared to most newer boats today, it definitely looked outdated. I mean, when's the last time you saw rust color on a new boat? Ready for the challenge, James set out to "re-create" this timeless beauty into something the owner would be proud to launch next to the guys with the $70k loans and 20 year notes! For starters, this boat had limited seating. Why not add an open bow and create additional seating there? Is that possible? You bet - check the pics below: Obviously they have gone with a new clean white look for this remodel. A new sleek blackened windshield will contrast nicely, and go well with the great black and gray graphics to come! The work continues: Some finishing touches to complete the look are in progress now. New carpet is installed throughout the interior. New "Malibu" plaque nameplate is hung on the back, new graphics on the exterior on both sides, and of course the new tower is reworked too. New powder-coating for beauty and durability is applied. To add to this look, new lighting is required throughout. So, new LED lights are added for both in and out of the water! That includes the main boat body, but also the tower and even around the new speakers installed there. Underwater lights complete the new illumination of this modern creation! It's really coming together now. With the graphics in place, this beautiful Malibu is ready to hang with anything on the water! Incredible remodel, right? Why not give James a call and see what can be done with your old love? Maybe it's time to bring her back...to the future!
